Fire ravages North Queens home

Firefighters from six different departments responded to a house fire in Kempt late last night.

“It started in a shed attached to the house and then caught the house on fire,” said Chief Chris Wolfe of the North Queens Fire Association (NQFA).

NQFA members were joined on-scene by firefighters from Greenfield, Liverpool, Annapolis Royal, Port Medway and Hemford. The home’s two residents were unharmed.

Wolfe praised the work of all firefighters who responded, noting his own department was on the scene for more than five hours in cold, snowy weather. “Everyone worked together and got the job done,” he said.
